Conversion of an
existing Contractor License is sought for changing the Applicant Type (From
Individual to Sole Proprietorship Firm/Partnership):
1) Individual: The applicant may apply for Conversion of the Individual
Contractor License into a “Partnership Firm” Contractor License in case he/she
wants to retain the credentials (such as the work experience, number of
projects completed under the License, etc.) of the Individual Contractor
License and create a “Partnership Firm” Contractor License where another
partner is added to the firm.
The applicant
will enter the existing “License No” of the Individual Contractor License and
search when all the form details are fetched from the backend; the application
fields are editable. Now, the applicant will select “Partnership Firm” from the
drop-down list for the “Type of Business” field; all details of the partnership
firm must be entered (similar to new registration). All the supporting
documents for a “Partnership Firm” must be uploaded along with a court
affidavit mentioning all liabilities and credentials.
2) Sole
Proprietorship Firm: Similar is the case with Sole
Proprietorship Firm. The applicant may apply for Conversion of the “Sole
Proprietorship Firm” Contractor License into a “Partnership Firm” Contractor
License in case he/she wants to retain the credentials (such as the work
experience, number of projects completed under the License, etc.) of the “Sole
Proprietorship Firm” Contractor License and create a “Partnership Firm”
Contractor License where another partner is added to the firm.
The applicant
will enter the existing “License No” of the Contractor License and search when
all the form details are fetched from the backend; the application fields are
editable. Now, the applicant will select “Partnership Firm” from the drop-down
list for the “Type of Business” field; all details of the partnership firm must be
entered (similar to new registration). All the supporting documents for a
“Partnership Firm” must be uploaded along with a court affidavit mentioning all
liabilities and credentials.
3) Partnership
Firm: Limited partners can be removed or added;
hence if there is a change in partners, the Contractor License must be updated and
Conversions of Contractor License must be applied; however, the partnership
license must be canceled if all limited partners leave.
The applicant
may apply for Conversion of the “Partnership Firm” Contractor License in case
he/she wants to add or remove a partner in the “Partnership Firm” Contractor
License. For example, this is seen in the case of the demise of a father and the addition
of a son/daughter to the “Partnership Firm” Contractor License.
The applicant
enters the existing “License No” of the Contractor License and searches when all
the form details are fetched from the backend; the application fields are
editable. The applicant may modify all the fields in the application form and
submit (similar to new registration). All the supporting documents for a
“Partnership Firm” must be uploaded along with a court affidavit mentioning all
liabilities and credentials.
4) Company: A company-owned Contractor License cannot convert into an Individual/ Sole Proprietorship Firm / Partnership Firm. Again, Company
licenses are tied to the number, not the individuals. Hence, any change of
leadership within companies does not affect the ownership of the license; but any
change in the company such as merging, dissolving, or surrendering business
rights will lead to the cancellation of the license altogether.
